Just booked a SYD-MEL and MEL-SYD leg for next week, no shadows this time either. Just as another data point.
Will try again at T-80

Depends on which flight and when.Just booked a SYD-MEL and MEL-SYD leg for next week, no shadows this time either. Just as another data point.

T - 10h for flight still blocked. Guess I'll find out if someone at check in assigned the seat.Hmm i was mildly curious what happens an a330 and 2-4-2 configuration.
I just moved around at t-80.
Im aware of course that at the airport check in they can override any of this.

QF2 SIN - SYD currently within t-80. I noticed after moving myself that theres a block on B. Im solo travelling in A and theres another solo in C.Just tried putting us A and C, and B didn’t block on EF. Guess not every route has it by default I suppose, but the flight (QF2) is in May so still a ways out.

Bit optimistic having an empty J next to you on such a long flight.Sigh.. once boarding started 15 min after my last post, every seat in J was filled. At least one has gone to a Qantas staff member presumably flying standby.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know how far in advance you can check your flights load on EF?
We’re on QF2 in January and if I try load the seat map for our flight it gives us an error
QF2 LHR-SIN on 12/1/25, we’re in J and requested an upgrade to FEF Flight Availability works a year out (as soon as the inventory goes on sale) and gives a better indication than seat maps.
Possibly because all the seats selectable by lower/non status pax are taken. Let me know the date and I'll export the seat maps for you anyway.
This happpens 95% of my QF 737 fligjts tbh.Sigh.. once boarding started 15 min after my last post, every seat in J was filled. At least one has gone to a Qantas staff member presumably flying standby.
Cheers! Much appreciated. Apologies for taking things off topic everyoneNot sure why you wouldn't be able to load the seat map - I would call to get them manually assigned.

Domestically I wouldn’t even bother…there’s always someone to fill the seat. I usually one get a spare on a day of travel delays where it’s all out of whackSigh.. once boarding started 15 min after my last post, every seat in J was filled.
