So what I will be disappointed with is
Not having done any of the first class lounges in Hong Kong
No more Qantas F lounge in Sydney , never actually managed to get to Melbourne either :(
Anyone else worked out what they shall be disappointed about ?

If you’re not based in Melbourne then you’d probably have got at least as many SC (or similar SC) flying via MEL as flying via SYD. In fact back when QF9 was an A380 many preferred to fly via MEL for the higher upgrade chance.

I remember being full and about to leave the Wing F in HKG and then noticed one of my favourite desserts on the buffet and suddenly I had some more room.

I’d miss domestic arrivals access when I drop eventually from WP again.

I think overall what you will miss is having OWE.
If you do a lot of domestic travel then loss of the J lounges but that’s not as big an impact as dropping from OWE to OWS.

Have you looked at any potential status matches ? Not sure if that’s an option.

I do international. I was expecting to have help with a first class flight in December but that unfortunately had to cancel (it was first class for under $11000 ....so so sad ) . Instead six days to Seoul
Pre all shut downs I used to have a few flights to USA and at least one to UK /Europe .
Husband's health has had a few issues soooo lol

Same here - on 1 July I'll drop from WP down to SG - although it will be LTG at least.i did at least get to enjoy the Melb F Lounge a couple of times when I was on the old QF9.
But for our travel, especially after I retire in a couple of years time, even bus lounge access as OWS will be worth it - and we're not stuck with Qantas.

QF F is cheaper (unfortunately not under $11,000) to London from Christchurch, Wellington or Auckland and 510 SCs than Sydney 420SCs - how do you get there? via Sydney

Fly more for less

Wouldn't you be extended as a 30Jun anniversary to retain WP till June 2024?

I don't think so, as I've had a couple of extensions already. But I won't say 'no' if they give me one. I'll report back in July.
Not only should you retain WP, you are also going to have up to 500 SCs from eligible SCs earned in your current membership year rolled over to give you a head start on the next!

Status Extension

Qantas will extend the status for Qantas Frequent Flyer members who:
  • hold Platinum One, Platinum, Gold or Silver status and have not been able to earn the required Status Credits to retain their status; and
  • have a status end date between 31 July 2022 and 30 June 2023.
Members who have received complimentary Gold status, or complimentary Platinum from a Platinum One member and those on Status Hold are eligible to have their status extended if they meet the above criteria.

Status Credit Rollover

Qantas will rollover eligible Status Credits earned in the Membership Years ending between 31 July 2022 and 30 June 2023, up to a cap of at least 40% of the Status Credits required to retain your customer’s status.
The maximum number of Status Credits that will be rolled over are as follows:
Platinum OnePlatinumGoldSilver
Status Credits1,800500250100

For me it'd be losing the access to HBA/AKL CC and the ability to have reward seats released ...

I think as @Princess Fiona mentioned the general feeling of being OWE and the benefits offered by other airlines in the alliance will be missed.

Agree. It's July onwards people who are unfortunate from my reading. Doesn't your account have a banner stating that your status has been extended? Mine had that from months before end of year date (April 30). Most of us have had multiple extensions to status.

I'll be dropping to LTG on 31 August after c. 20 years as WP.

It had to happen sometime and my days of an annual DONEx are done (so to speak :p).

But there is the FREEDOOOM. 🤣
I have to say it is actually quite... disconcerting to go outside the Qantas bubble (excluding reward seats ) we are even looking outside OneWorld. It is perhaps the familiarity of certain things that I will miss .

I'm going to put the toe in the water for a bit of difference next January. We're going PER-xSYD-ZQN on J rewards with QF, but revenue J on NZ direct AKL-PER.

One interesting point raised on the last AFF podcast was that once you hit LTG there is literally 0 reason to keep flying QF or OneWorld partners. Indeed, status matching to another program like Asiana (Star Alliance) or Air France (SkyTeam) may be more sensible given how easy it is to earn lifetime top tier status with them. In the case of Asiana, it's 500,000 miles flown with them and partners (or 500 Asiana flights taken) and with Air France Flying Blue it's 10 consecutive years at the
