Hi must confess most of my FF pts are generated by credit cards. When it comes to flights I'll generally buy on price and convenient flying times rather than blindly support say Qantas to accrue pts.

For business owners I see this year QBE in Victoria will take credit cards for Workcover premiums. Just wondering with BAS payments (yes post offices will only take $3000 cash at a time for the payments). Does a short term cash advance on your credit card generate FF pts? I'm thinking it might be worthwhile takiing a very short term cash advance one day, paying it back the next.

See this week (expiring today) Qantas are offering 10,000 pts for combined international package holidays (flights and accom). BUt if two FF travel together you only get 5,000 each. Have some possible biz travel later this year but even for NZ Qantas is a bit pricey.

The plethora of cheap tickets, lots of airlines has turned some of us into very picky travellers. I'm sure I'm not alone in booking forward say a lot of Virgin cheap flights that used to come out on days like Boxing day. BUt when the time arrives you've sort of lost the urge to go :)

Good luck

You don't earn points on cash advances. And there is a cash advance fee, and interest is payable from the day you take it out.

Thanks Will. I wonder with the ANZ cards where you earn pts when you pay them off whether this might apply. Still a win on being able to pay WorkCover by card.

I inadvertently did this once on my ANZ CC (by accident), and no; you don't earn points.
