Pointless accumulating points?

I watch the Woolies and BP specials so have accumulated a reasonable (for me) number of points.... They are useful in keeping the overall tally at a usable/stable level.
I wonder when QF will consider that there might be a lot more interest in non-flying accumulation of status credits?
As I'm based in Europe, Qantas Points are of very little interest or value to me at the moment with little prospect of getting to Australia anytime soon, so I'll not go out of my way to collect them.

Anything involving being able to add a few status credits to my lifetime total would be a lot more interest and would attract my attention.

Unfortunately though most of the status credit offers there have been (BP, Woolies, Health Insurance, Qantas Hotels, Qantas Credit Card sign up bonuses etc) were not available to those of us overseas.

Billecarte!
Aye, so only grog on the SK KF shop has got a minimum points usage of under 10k.
I don't drink tho, but good to know that grog comes first in the KF shop scheme of things.
And they only deliver to Singapore addresses only.

Hmm, so the KF shop does have things chocolates/tea etc and so forth, and they do deliver outside Singapore, ahhh, never made an effort to chase up this info.
Maybe all is not lost, if they don't decide to extend mileage life into the forseeable future.
Ok, no more OT from me on this.

I have a friend in Singapore who used to come and visit her sister a couple of times a year, or Rema would go there. KF delivered to her place for free. Better some hand creams and lotions/earrings/shopping bags (for presents) that losing the lot.

Ta, Port_Power, yeap, at the least its now that we have another outlet to use KF points, and they pay "p&p"/postage and packaging.
Will definitely keep that in mind.

there is vrooms, book hotel rooms with KF points. not sure how it stacks up for value though

Well lot ppl transferred Velocity points to KS points way back, long time ago.
Was a no brainer apparently back then, now maybe not so wise.

With QF & VA points not expiring with use. so no issue to have a use for these in good time.
J flights better than any e-store tid bits, value-wise.

I still think it was the right decision (KF rather than VFF), although that may depend on when your points expire in KF?!

Read our AFF credit card guides and start earning more points now.

Have you already done the extend by 6 months thing on KF, then you can book 11/12 months ahead (and my experience is that you can change beyond the 12 months).

Slightly OT:
They (KF) have been automatically extending the life of the points I have with them, started flying with them if I remember correctly was around Jul 2017 when I did some AirNZ flights with KF # in the booking.
Then 1 on SQ's own flight J ($ booking) MEL - WLG.
I have had several emails that my points were to expire Jun/Jul 2020, 36 months after activities, extended to Jul 2021...
Will see what email KF sends next, then maybe redeem for teas if they don't do any more extentions.
They wont send food items out of Singapore, only teas or coffee pods, note that I have a bit about 10,100 or so miles, so not that much.
VRooms would be good if we didn't have domestic borders closures/having to do quarantine if we fly domestically.
Also Pullman Adelaide, if it ever reopens to the public, will not be my hotel of choice *eva!)*
With my small amount of KF points, the only way I was going to use it was P+P for ADL - SIN - HND... but its off the plans now for a long time it seems.
Back OT

Thanks very much for that Vroom tip.
Turns out for "burning" SQ's KF miles, using Vroom to book the Stamford Grand at Glenelg (SA) for forward booking for Dec would "burn" out half my miles, 5000 KF miles out of 10,000 odd, which is ok, seeing we don't know when flights with SQ will open for Aussies to go up to Tokyo, without hotel quarantine on return, ...
That is once Covid has been totally dealt with.
Hope that SK will do one more or two more 3 months extensions of their miles validity.

For me, nothing has changed at all. I do my very best to accumulate as many points that I can because I know, yes KNOW :p, that one day we can travel again and these points will come of use. Plus- even domestically, nothing wrong with a J class redemption up in a while. Still way better use of points than wasting them on toaster ovens and the likes.
