Points Club Classic Reward flight not showing as an eligible flight. Should it be?

Should flights booked with points (Points Club member) as a Classic Reward to Bali from Perth return, count as eligible flights in order to retain status? They have been added to my account, but Qantas has stated these Jetstar flights are not eligible as they didn't earn any status credits. I'm not worried about the status credits per se, but would like them to count towards the 4 x eligible flights required.

No, JQ CR flights don’t count as eligible sectors (or “squiggles” in old terminology).

Only paid JQ with a bundle count as eligible sectors.

Yeah, only QF flights get SC and eligible sector on Classic Award bookings for Points Club members

Award flights do not count as sectors for Status retention irrespective of whether or not you earned status credits as a Points Club member.

Eligible sectors are paid, revenue flights.

It's black and white in the T&Cs:

20.1.5 The travel required in each Membership Year to attain or retain Silver, Gold, Platinum and Platinum One tier must include a minimum of four Eligible Flight Segments where Qantas, QantasLink or a Jetstar Airline is the Marketing Carrier. Classic Flight Rewards do not count towards the four required Eligible Flight Segments

The only flights I have taken this membership year are Classic Awards (as Points Club member).
I have been credited with the 4 x eligible QF flights and also moved from Bronze to the lofty heights of Silver, through Classic Award activity only.

What Qantas say and what they do are two entirely different things.

I've maintained Plat entirely with classic flight rewards as a PCP member.

I would be keen to see your travel itinerary achieving this.

Maybe not retention, but I can say that as a PC member, classic reward flights on QF from MEL to WGA via SYD qualified as my four segments for getting silver status for the first time earlier this year.

Basically, if it earns status credits and it's QF or JQ-operated, it qualifies it seems.

It's not really that hard when combined with DSCs.

SYD-MEL is 72SC return in J.
Australia - West Coast USA is 288SC return in J. Even more to Dallas/JFK.
Yep - and CR SCs for PC/PC+ even count towards the Loyalty Bonus; so if you're a PC+ with the rollover who does Green Tier, you're starting at 100SCs, then adding 50 for GT, 50 for Loyalty Bonus somewhere along the way, and so just need to find the other 1,000 (or 500 w/DSCs) to retain!

That’s the general Ts&Cs (and there’s a similar clause about not earning SCs on CR). But PC/PC+ trump those with their own special Ts&Cs.

I‘ve also achieved eligible sectors with CR flights as PC.

Except those T&Cs don't mention anything about them counting as segments (not that I'm complaining :)):

Points Club and Points Club Plus members will earn Status Credits on Qantas Marketed Classic Flight Rewards if they are a Points Club or Points Club Plus member at the time they fly. Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded in your booking before your flight departs to receive the Status Credits. See the Classic Flight Reward tables for the Status Credit earn rate for Points Club and Points Club Plus members. Classic Flight Rewards seats are subject to capacity controls, availability is limited, and some flights may not have any Classic Flight Rewards available. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable to Qantas (excluding any amounts payable to third parties at the airport) in addition to the points required.
