I've just registered and seen opportunity to better manage numerous airline and hotel (and other) loyalty programs and to transfer between such programs. What's your experience with Points.com?

It's pretty average to be honest. Usually the $ cost to exchange or trade points is more than the points are actually worth anyway.

Oops... I've done some googling and realized what a rip off this is. Fortunately, I only linked my HA miles and now have checked that those miles are still sitting in my HA account. Definitely won't sell or redeem miles using Points.com.

The only thing I've done is buy some Virgin America miles to keep my account active - that was almost as cheap as trading miles!

The rates for "transfers" generally represent very poor value, so really only to be considered for orphaned points about to expire with no other options available.

I registered and then used Points.com to get a free hit for US air's Grand Slam 2011, transfered 10 Dividend Miles into 4 Asia Miles into 1 Dividend Mile...

Don't you have to provide FF account number and password when signing up to Points.com? Not sure I want anyone to have access to my FF account and password.

Sitting duck springs to mind....
