points for classic rewards domestic flights in Chile on LATAM seem a bit off?

I did that same route last year and also had the strange points prices. Maybe a currency code error? If you book on Latam.com they are pretty cheap anyways and then Latam will automatically send you a boarding pass 48 hours before the flight. I didn't bother paying for seat selection for such a short flight.

Did you try searching using the multi-city award search tool, specifying Puerto Montt as the origin and Santiago the destination? I tried that and it displays the price correctly:

What I will say about LATAM having now booked over half a dozen seats in business between Australia and South America is the whole set up is very finnicky. LATAM will release a ton of business availability towards the middle of the month then take it away a day or two later (particularly on flights between Oceania and South America). Additionally, the Qantas website cannot price certain award itineraries as one-ways. For instance, flying Sydney to Porto Alegre in Brazil, you'll never find business availability crop up (even if there is business availability between Sydney and Santiago). However, if you book the flight as multi-city (SYD > SCL then SCL > POA) it'll book out normally and even display the correct price too! With that being said, the taxes and fees are very fair. For instance, the aforementioned Sydney to Porto Alegre flight (mostly in business) has taxes & fees of just $128 AUD. I'd challenge anyone to find lower taxes and fees on QFi long haul rewards, even in coach!
