Hi,

Hubby and daughter were to fly from LAX to JAC sunday morning, direct flight at 8am, first class.

Apparently, got to airport, and gate lounge, only to be told a different gate. Went to different gate, and were then sent back to original gate.

Delayed for hours in LAX, put on standby to SLC, eventually got the last row of economy, then delayed in SLC for another 5 hours, and seats in "economy plus"

Now arrived in Jackson Hole around 10pm, more than 10 hours later than expected.

Hubby said no information given from staff, no announcements, no lounge access, no food vouchers.

Any suggestions what he should do considering they didn't get the class of travel they paid for, and the lenghty delays and uncertainty if they would even get to Jackson Hole the same day. Therefore impacting car hire and accommodation on arrival in Jackson Hole.

Appreciate any feedback or suggestions,

TQ

Do Delta have 'instant upgrade' tickets (aka AA YUPPs etc)? If their tickets were like these then there would likely be no compensation/refund.

Sorry Hvr, and juggles,

They bought the tickets online via delta website, and paid for the first class tickets on the direct flight.
They are due to return on same ticket in 2 weeks…..

TQ

Flying to Jackson Hole this time of year one can assume it's weather related. I've expereinced massive delays in North American winters and generally everyone in the same boat. No compensation.

When flying in a US winter I'm always happy to be on the ground safely.

Hi Matt,

Can totally agree with you regarding winter in North America.

I will wait to get more information directly from my husband, but initially my daughter said she overheard ground staff at LAX talking about plane unserviceable ??

TQ

you'll need to have a look at Delta's conditions of carriage which should cover this situation: Contract of Carriage: United States | Delta Air Lines (rule 240)

You will be entitled to the fare difference between F and Y class, although depending on how low the F class fare was, there may not be much difference.
