Portugal for a week suggestions

Have decided on an itinerary for our trip in just under 2 months :):

Day 1: Lisbon-Cascais-Sintra (overnight)
Day 2: Sintra-Obidos-Peniche-Coimbra (overnight)
Days 3-5: Coimbra- Porto (3 nights- including day trip to Duoro valley)
Day 6: Porto- Fatimah-Evora (overnight)
Day 7: Evora- Lisbon

We have just completed this very enjoyable trip...drove 1132kms in the 7 days. We did not feel rushed and crammed as much sightseeing as possible in the 7 days. Fuel (diesel) costs were very reasonable at ~ Euro 65 for the trip, and road tolls cost about Euro 60....we also drove across the 2 main bridges crossing the mouth of the river in Lisbon.

We parked the car at the hotel whilst in Porto (too busy to drive and parking was not easy) and did an organised daytrip to the Douro Valley as we were wine tasting ;)

We spent a week in Lisbon prior to the road trip and enjoyed that too...Portugal is a beautiful country and we only scratched the surface in the 2 weeks we were there.

Glad it worked out. Wife and I had a few days in Lisbon earlier this year. She attended her conference and I explored the city. We hired a car on the final day to fill in the hours before our evening flight. Cabo del Roca and Sintra, with a wonderful lunch in Sintra where every parking spot was full.

I'd love to go back and spend a week or so seeing some more sights, having some more excellent tucker, drinking some tasty wine etc. etc.

The streets of Sintra were very narrow....imagine driving down a narrow street thinking it must be one way when a full sized coach suddenly approaches coming the other way!!....several swear words did get uttered. We parked our car at our accommodation and explored Sintra by foot ;)

The food and wine in Portugal was very good and cheap :)
