Positioning to BKK ex PER suggestions?

Thanks.. 🤭..I guess being in SQ Y class with KF flyer means no lounge access despite holding a VA platinum card...?.. quite tempted with the SQ flights to BKK via SIN although had thought entering VA card number.
Yes, you can enter your VFF # into the booking, PER - SIN - BKK, and "should" get lounge access all the way.

VA Gold/Platinum flying SQ economy would have lounge access to SQ SilverKris lounge in PER/BKK and SQ KrisFlyer Gold in SIN.

And yes add your VA number directly into the booking and earn SCs and Velocity points.

Then QF PER - SIN, then BA elsewhere.
You can't earn BA tier points on QF flights, and BA might not put their code onto the QF PER - SIN flights, so might as well earn QFF SC on the PER - SIN sector flying QF anyway.
---
SIN - BKK is doable with a 3K bundle deal.

No probs ever in putting BA exec club on QF flights and getting benefits S BA Gold OW Emerald. Earning categories tend to be the issue especially when positioning on QF (say to likes of SIN or BKK). To maximise points tend to look at flying AY ex BKK. Much cheaper also than SIN. Never use QF FF think it's worthless personally. ,,😁 using MH ex SIN in biz to BKK via KUL also worth considering.

QF71 has lots of codeshare numbers. In the case of BA is it BA7405

@PERLHR - I tried finding flights PER-BKK, there isn't any that is direct? Have I got it right ? I looked for this week and there is no direct.

Indeed as Ade says no direct yet. Thai anyway does not interest me. Happy to go around the houses to get the BA points anyhow. Would not rely on Jetstar even with days leeway to make my AY connection at BKK

Yeah and for the pleasure on the same flight down the back QF was 1,000 dollars return for QF and BA quote nearly 3,000 dollars just to call the flight BA. That's hysterical and just ridiculous at the same time...6K for return in biz...who would ever buy that? , 😭

How does MH earning look for BAEC?
At least they offer a choice of dept times

You’d be on a full service carrier all the way to BKK with both flights earning, on QF you’d be on 3K I assume from SIN to BKK

MH earn is fine but out of PER you have the 0230 departure on the A330 which isn’t great or you have the arvo flight which is on a garbage 737 product and gets in late night so needs a overnighter in KL

This is also a very expensive flight for the points generated. More tempted to route down the back on QF to SIN the onward with MH to KUL and BKK (in cheaper biz cabin still 40 BA Tier points per sector the pick up AY to Europe. Why pay over 4,000 AUD just to get from Perth to KUL and back when that is frankly what AY charge to get to Europe and back from BKK.

SIN-BKK and return are short (cheap?) enough to consider an award flight for the connection.
Especially when considering that the earning for any paid flight option is minimal.
Be creative when wandering

Actually 40 BA tier points from SIN to KUL and then another 40 from KUL to BKK and same back utilising MH metal makes that routing very lucrative for BA collection of points for around AUS 1000. Better than using award points.
