Report in todays Australia that the Salter Group who own a fair number of hotels are planning to convert the CP Coogee and CP Melbourne to ICs.
They own a fair collection of upmarket properties including the Spicers Group.

Here are the chain hotels it owns.

Lots of low end Accor. What would they reflag an Ibis/Mercure as in IHG brands? Holiday Inn Express?

I don't think so. The article did refer to refurbs of the Voco Gold Coast and a Hyatt Regency with no change of brands.

Doubt it, would not meet brand standard, most HIX locally are new builds from proinvest. The Salter properties in that sector are largely refugees from Travelodge Rev 2.0, not to be confused with the cookie cutter Travelodge Rev 1.0 from SPHC days like you find at Tulla, Geelong, Darwin, Camperdown & Port Moresby

Both were rebrands no so long ago, with the Hyatt formerly country comfort while the Voco was the old Watermark
