POST COUNTER - how does it work/not?

Hi out there, just a simple question and not an earth-shaking one.

Can anyone tell me how the post counter shoudl work. The reason for this is that I seem to be stuck on the same number of posts a number of times; for instance take this mornings posting:

11:30 - answered a thread - post counter 66
11:34 -responded to a differed thread - post counter still 66
11:47 - responded again to same thread - post counter still 66

Does post counter only count answers in different threads - if so, why? Seems no rule or logic - so is there a bug in the system?:?:

As I said, this has happened before - not trying to reach any magic number of postings here, but leaves me wonder if right or wrong.

OK - posting this thread has taken me to 67 - wonder if this response will stay at 67 (for a reason) or whether it will jump to 68?

Only one way to find out, I suppose!

Yep - has changed a bit - seems like there is a time delay between posting and the post counter updating - some of the posts i mentioned in the op have altetered.

One question remains - if you respond more than once in the same thread, do you stay at the same post count number or does it go up for EACH posting you make? :?:

Any posts made to the “Playground” are not counted against your official tally under your avatar. All other posts made to other areas of the site increase your tally.

EACH post you make counts as another post, unless you made it in the “Playground”, in which case it’s not counted. Though I’m sure it’s counted somewhere.

As this thread is in the “Your Questions” forum, posts are counted. If a mod were to move this thread to the “Playground”, your post count would drop.
