When I saw the thread title I thought it must be referring to the South African found in the landing gear compartment in LHR last month. But no, it's happened again! Unbelievable, don't people realize they'll die?

There are actually a few reports of people surviving the trip in the landing gear.
Airplane stowaways are not uncommon, but very few survive - Quincy, MA - The Patriot Ledger
That article reports a 17% survival rate from the FAA. Likely the actual figure is a bit higher as there might be some that got through without being detected.

A thankless task for the emergency service workers who have to collect the pieces.

were they making the sequel to Con Air? Perhaps the shoot went wrong. Was the guy named Pinball?

This just highlights the desperation that some have to escape to a place where they hopefully will have a better life....the lack of empathy shown to a fellow human in the above posts is disappointing.

Maybe the flight was using the call sign "Air Force One" and Harrison Ford was at the controls.

I think most of us sympathise with the person that has passed on but I don't think we can really can empathise with the person that has passed on, but I would guess most of us cannot empathise, because most of us will never be in the position of the departed thus we can only really sympathise with the departed.

Yes it does highlight the lengths that people will go too, but it also highlights the ignorance of people who believe that this is an option that might succeeed. Of course the problem is, they probably only hear the stories from those who are succesfull, the dead can't tell their story too much.
