Not sure what's going on but the deals are back and ebates are at 8%, have not checked how far the go but node availability for August. As I need a room in Sydney every week I have a feeling I have a busy night, $80 a night less 8% is hard to pass up.

Hey Markis - can I ask how you double dip with PP and cash back? I've only been able to take one or the other. But I'm relatively new cash back so maybe I'm missing something.

Cheers

Use the PP link to go as far as room selection, copy the URL, then click through cash back using the same details re city etc, once you get to the same room paste the URL.

A question re use of BOGOF hotel staying certificate.

I have a BOGOF certificate expires at the end of this year - it is a transferable one. I would like to use it to book 2 nights stay at the Intercontinental for my sister & her husband (gift for her birthday) in June next year. Is it OK for me to book this stay with the certificate (before it expires in December this year)? Or, does the stay have to be before the December expiry date? Sorry, I don't have the certificate in front of me as it is in Sydney and I am in London!

Thanks!

No not okay.

In the past some properties would look the other way but that was likely just missing the deadline (you would be out by 6 months) + the PP program is dissolved now and sun setting so it could be the hotel does not even recognise the program by hen :-) let alone Intercon allowing or having rates loaded for June 2015 that are PP related...

Crafty Markis10 thanks! I sometimes just swap out the rate code I.e. 6BARC from the URL and replace with the appropriate PP rate plan code I.e. IDPP2 or IDPMC etc.

thanks, mattressman. Not good news at all! A bit disappointed that the PP card is still valid to end of year.

i saw a 50% disc on dining at Intercon for up to 8 people. Is this still good this month?

ts unclear what is on and what isn't ..for rooms you can sometimes see PP rates appearing and 2 for 1s..Dining is a black hole as we have no newsletter to work from like we did in the past. I guess the only option would be to call cafe opera and see if they are rolling the May, June offers through July and August..bringing 8 people they may be swayed particular if you hit the plonk. Let us know how you go

Have had three PP stays this month and I can tell you that on every occasion, the certificate was requested. This includes locations where they have been pretty lax about collection in the past. Methinks a clearing of the PP decks? On another note, have been able to find quite a few newsletter specials still valid for the next few months. Just remember to plug in 'Newsletter Special' on the booking page to see what it throws up first before trying anything else.

it would be great and much clearer than PP program if china was clearly available for hotel deals
The program has already been rolled out in China. Australia et al, are joining them. As it is a IHG program, the Dining Rewards T&C's actually appear to be part of the IHG Rewards T&Cs. The core benefits of the program should be available in China:
Specific Country. While most benefits of the Programme apply at all Participating Hotels across multiple countries (unless otherwise noted), the member must purchase a country-specific version of the Programme based on the member's current country of residence and shall pay the specific annual membership fee that applies to that country. Based on the rules and regulations of that country, the membership fee may or not be subject to additional sales taxes or other local taxes. The member must provide a mailing address (to which their membership card and kit will be sent), and if applicable, a billing address, in that specific country.
