Pre-Departure Beverages Gone the Way of the Dodo?

Today's data point - CBR-MEL on QF1517 (B717 service) in J - no beverage offered at all. Was offered a top up of red wine though with the "meal" I was served. It was an inedible toastie (I'll post photos in the menu thread). So my lunch today was a Lindt ball and 2 glasses of red , which might be regarded as OK 😁

It’s fruit, and some dairy. Sounds fine to me 😂

Data point: BNE-SYD QF 555 no pre-departure drinks or water offered.

They did provide a bottle of water upon me requesting once seatbelt sign was off though.

QF655 A330 J seat 7F - no PDB, in fact no anything until approx. 1 hour into the flight when cabin crew finally reached the second business cabin... and no hot meals available, just chicken salad or chicken salad.

I made it known i was disappointed at the crew's absence and was fairly well attended to after this.

Flew QF136 "domestic" service from CHC to SYD and noticed PDB was being offered to those seated in J. It was a choice of water, juice or sparkling wine.

French bubbles in J flying ZQN-SYD yesterday.

BTW, TT service has been somewhere between ”domestic” and long haul international for ages. In whY you’d get a hot meal and J gets Champers.

You used to be quite noticeable on QF flights to EZE via AKL. Same B747 aircraft, but TT crew and J service across the ditch and then full service on the longhaul.

Got a how was your flight survey today and noted my concerns... are these a regular thing now?

PDB of water offered in J on QF918 just now, first time I've had any thing offered before departure in a while

Priority boarding worked this morning for a BNE-SYD flight but nothing offered prior to departure and in fact there was a 20 minute delay waiting for catering...
