Pre -pre boarding

« Extended Leisure Period » 👍 must use that sometime instead of getting on the p/ss.

In a past life I’ve been allowed onto a flight becore boarding started because I’ve been escorting someone somewhere. We went to the last row though. We also had to wait until everyone else was off before we disembarked.
I saw something like that going to LHR not too long ago, although the escort was not the first onboard (I was and saw it) and they were the first off from the rear (they had to delay us a few minutes).

I
Never noticed this before. Waiting by the gate for boarding to commence, QF ADL-MEL.

Before any pre-boards, gate agent approached 3 pax ( well dressed males) standing next to me, checked their names, and invited them forward to the gate, where they were scanned through and boarded. Then wheelchair pax, etc etc.

When I went on board, 2 of them were in 4B and C, (B737) with another pax (edit: not part of the group of three) in 4A.

I, in 6C had a shadow, as did the pax in 4D and F.

Is this bording first a CL perk? If high statue related, then odd that they didn't have a shadow, while we plat scum did 😊

I’ve had the same courtesy extended to me overseas. Sometimes official VIP delegations military and Govt (in my case travelling with) get afforded a pre pre boarding or on other occasions we’ve been held in a VIP lounge until everyone else has boarded, is sat down and strapped in and then we board.

I know there was a French delegation in AU talking up the submarine contract. Could it have been them?

Actually scratch that; they would have been in J.

Thanks, and welcome to posting on AFF :)

@RooFlyer what is a shadow? Thanks :)
Empty seat next to you

Or, more exactly, an empty seat next to you, because it was blocked from occupation by the airline after you had selected your seat, because you have platinum status or above. Its an 'unwritten' benefit and can easily disappear if the plane gets full.
