Exactly. If this woman was too cheap and nasty to spend some of her own money on a hotel room to look after herself and her baby, why should Virgin pick up the tab?

Virgin were picking up the tab and putting pax up in hotels - that's the stupid thing about this whole story.

The pax could have had a comfortable few hours in a hotel and not been out of pocket at all.

Instead she chose to play the martyr and try and garner public sympathy when it was her choice all along!

I had to laugh at one wag who cut and pasted a photo of what I first thought was a beached whale from the complainant's publicly available Facebook account

Turns out it was the OP sunbaking on a rock which was quite amusing given that there wouldn't be much difference in comfort between a rock and a hard floor.

Such a situation has only happened to me once, and it was actually at BNE when flying Q. They shuttled me to the Mercure and gave me a $40 voucher. I recall spending it on a rack of lamb and glass of red, ordered from room service (which I never order, always preferring to eat in the restaurant but at that time was closed). Mercure were in the process of changing their menu (read: increasing prices). My room had the old cheaper menu so there was argy-bargy at check-out but they let me off the charges. When the shuttle arrived for the 6 am replacement flight, I was the only pax - apparently 4 other people slept in. I wonder if they had to pay for their flight?

I love this corporate speak, they let you off the charges. Good luck on changing prices when they have quoted (and you have accepted) an alternate price.
