Preventing Hyatt points from expiring

I have some HGP points set to expire in 2 month. Am I correct I understanding that if I go to a Hyatt property (like the Hyatt Melbourne, where I live) and make a purchase at a bar etc, that it will keep the points active?

Depends on the bar. Reportedly only some will do this.. Easiest way is probably to purchase 1000pts online

If it is any use now I can confirm that a small purchase of points online will keep the points active. Minimum spend is $24 usd from memory.
