The day before I flew into Hobart Priority Boarding was set up in Hobart, it looks good, staff say customers are having difficulty adjusting to it. But hopefully it works well, I'll update once I've used it on how it works.

All I can hear around me is a group of people snickering, saying how elitist it is, and how we are all equal and will arrive into Melbourne at the same time. Eeeekk.

Nice. Better than Priority Boarding at BNE Intl:

(PS - the non-priority queue had about 2 people in it at that stage!)

Worked a treat.

Announcement advising boarding will start in 5mins, however Priority Pax can board now, I stayed around for a little and staff didn't skip a beat switching between priority and regular boarding queues.

Just how it should be!

Oh god. Lol!

But yay for little Hobart town. :)

Hallelujah! HBA has a high population of once a year travellers, who seem to think that if they unless they congregate around the very small entrance to the boarding gate there is a chance they may miss the plane. I have given up trying to move through the crowds for priority boarding, and usually wait till the masses have boarded. Don't they know who I am .....and part to allow me through ;)

Look forward to trying it out this week!

The real question is, why does OOL not have priority boarding!

When I checked, it's officially called "Hobart International Airport"

What's international about it is beyond me.

It was ANZ, now Antarctica...are there charter flights to NZ maybe? Wiki says they maintain a customs terminal.

Maybe they got the term "international" confused with "overseas"...

chuckle - if it's made it all the way to hobart, surely OOL must be getting it soon!

Well, OOL had priority boarding last Friday on Gate 2......................

Liam maybe they were just waiting for you to leave first :p ;)

PS.......No priority screening at OOL though and that is needed more. I'm not kidding you that we were in the screening line for about 20 minutes. It seemed everyone in front had to open bags for contraband. One guy about 4 times and in the end they took his bag and searched it........bloody annoying!

We'll confirm that we have now rolled out Priority boarding in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Mackay and joining the list are Gold Coast and Hobart.
We have been running a short trial in Canberra, with any positive feedback you can give us about the service sure to help us secure it permanently at Canberra Airport!

Technically yes - HBA is still International - you wouldn't think it though. Flights go to Antarctica for those who cannot survive a few days in the Southern Ocean breaking through Ice on a bright orange boat...

With the PB - I hope it does work cause it is the same set-up at the gate for Jetstar with PB. Passengers line-up seriously 15 mins before boarding (it is really not necessary). It's a Tassie thing I guess..
