Priority Club and QFF points

If you stayed the one stay already then changing the earning to miles will mean double miles, I had a function at the HI Darwin this week that I charged to the room that should result in 18K of QFF points, thats 100 SC using a JASA redemption while the nights count to the stay 7 get 10000 points bonus, or two free nights at PB.

Thanks for your help ;)
What would I do without the help of fellow AFFers?

Have you looked at ADL-TSV 240 SCs for 48000 pts and $160, at least TSV and DRW have some IHG hotels to earn points in!
Nup - FWIW, I actually want to go to DRW.

I would have gone both ways via BNE for an additional 20 SC's, but I am time restricted.

If you had the time you could do
ADL-BNE-TSV 120SC
TSV-BNE-DRW 140 SCs
DRW-BNE-TSV 140 SCs
TSV-BNE-ADl 120 SCs

Each leg is 24000 points and around $90, so thats 520 SC's for 96000 points and $360, food for thought for ozfest, luckily I have a need to work in DRW and TSV so overnights there are on work ;). You also earn 18744 points as a WP, making the real cost 77256 points + cash, and a lot of time in a domestic J cabin.

A typical 4 night stay for me over the next 2 months will cost $1000 and net 30K PC points:

  • Qualifying Stay 12K
  • platinum bonus 6K
  • double points/miles 12K
Am I right that this would give me 6000 QF points and 24000 PC points if I changed my earning preference from PC points to QFF?

To go slightly off topic, if I changed my Priority Club earning preference to Air Canada miles, am I right that I would only get 600 AC miles for a stay?

Thanks in advance.

You would get double your normal earning or 6 points per $, no platinum bonus, so you would get 6000 points in total. If you had PC points, it would be 30K , but not both QFF points and PC points would be earned, unless you had some of the bonus offers like the welcome back offer, stay xx get 10000 points etc.

A recent $135 night for me resulted in:

Qualifying Stay
- Miles to QANTAS AIRWAYS, LTD 404 mi.
Double Points/Miles '10 403 mi
Priority Club Bonus Offer 3000 pts.

Maybe I should put in a complaint about the missing mile :)

After making the switch to earning QFF Points i finally had an ICHG stay.

I stayed at a CP on a use your 25% PP BOGO and keep it rate. Before I stayed they halved the rate again in my online reservation. Instead of the best flex rate of $200 per night, which became $150 at 25% off, I then got the room for $75. At check in they offered me the $75 rate so I decided to stick with that. This was more than I was entitled to so I was very happy with this.

I did get QFF points for the stay even though this is a very cheap rate. The stay however posted as non-qualifying. I have contacted PC to get this clarified but I didn't get a very meaningful response. They gave me some more points but didn't change the stay from non qualifying.

My question is, are all stays when earning airline miles deemed non-qualifying? I don't really want to press PC too hard on this particular stay given that I paid a ridiculously cheap rate and still got all the points.

I am more concerned about future stays and whether I should still use QFF as my earning preference. I am nearly platinum (only 2800 points away) this year and I want to make sure I get it at my next stay.

$75 a night is a bargain, not surprised that they classed it as non qualifying as its more than 30% off rack and thus is deep discount, whether you credit points or miles is not going to affect the status.

I would not be too fussed if you got the QFF points, and if the stay was after Sep 20 then you have knocked off the first stay requirement for double points.
