Considering you can get 5000 points for $30, its not surprising, last year it took a little bit of convincing by me to an overseas supplier that he really should be buying 15K of points and booking the IC Perth, at $80 a night his finance department soon worked out what the point purchase was for.

Thanks Bill. It's a marketer's axiom that you move on to a new concept, whether the old one worked or not. It justifies their existence.

Yeah, people just don't realise what PB is for, and just don't want to accept that it is the "Bargain Bin" (I love that term!) of hotels. Unfortunately PC put themselves in this situation when they had a huge PB "sale" a couple of years ago, and also late last year when they mistakenly added more hotels than what they published. People now expect every list to contain "great" hotels.

Also being able to earn 5000 points really easily even with one night's stay doesn't help either...

I'm not sure the concept is dead, but as the list is "stalked" and the best properties cherry picked and gone within 36 hours, it can't be succeeding as any other tool than a gift to FT'ers and similar people.

I wouldn't necessarily expect "great" hotels although a little variety with limited availability could also work.

Looks like may book a night at Crowne Plaza Pelican Waters for early February.

No problems, if as we get closer to the end of crack the case I might be in the position to shout you a night at an indigo and HIX each to help me crack the 5 brands

, stupid promo when you only have three brands in Australia and most of Asia.
