Hi

I have a priority pass membership which I attained through the Westpac Black Credit Card.
I now wish to cancel my Westpac Black card.

Does anyone know if this will effect my priority pass membership?

I had been wondering about the same question, but I've had a look at the terms and conditions with priority pass, and they do say the membership needs to be linked to a valid card. So it appears that if you cancel your credit card, the membership would also be cancelled.

I love my membership and use it were the routine stuff via AA or QF membership is poor Quality. I have been impressed with PP offerings in certain parts of continental USA. Family members have also used the card in Middle East and Europe. ( no QF status) without issues. Great Value, especially great that my name was not correlating with the BP

Actually this is a good question. The Westpac black card gives you a membership that gets 2 free visits at year, plus US$27 outside those 2 visits. Would the membership be cancelled completely, or would you just lose that level of membership and revert to a level were you have to pay for every visit?

I just cancelled my Westpac Black, and forgot I have a PP. Subscribing to this thread as I would be keen to know the answer...

What happened to you?

I'm saying that I don't know what is happening to me.

I cancelled my Westpac Black, and have a PP.
But since cancelling my Westpac Black, I haven't had the opportunity to use my PP since. I cant seem to login to my online account, but not sure whether that means my PP is automatically cancelled though..

Does this mean that your family members got into the lounge on your card without you being there? I am asking as my husband has a PP card but I dont and I am flying solo via SIN with a 4 hour stopover. Its not an airport where it is hard to pass time but a shower and some food would be fantastic after a 14 hour flight :D

Thats a big "YES"

I had membership through my St George card that I cancelled late last year. About a month after I cancelled I got something from PP regarding moving from plastic card to being card linked to phone app. I logged on and there was my membership though until sometime in 2017. The linked St George card is of course no longer valid. We are going to see if we can access the lounge in Auckland when we're on our way to South America in June. If we get in good, if we don't no worries.

That is brilliant :D Did you just have to show your PP card and not the Amex? If so then I am so going to borrow his card when travelling through SiN and CPH :D

Just the PP they were not interested in anything else. My family enjoyed their experience made the trip bearable !

Having ignored the offer of a Priority Pass card available through my Citibank Signature card for some years I recently applied for one. Easy to sign up, downloaded App, and card arrived today. Classy card and app and literature. Impressed. A good deal for two free visits a year, plus USD27 each subsequent visit or guest. Useful where there is no OneWorld lounge.

Oh yes this is true and looks like family can share in your success.

My PP was cancelled following a change in CC's. Received another member number when I relpaced the CC so now it is in my pocket whenever I travel. 2 free vists for me and $US 27 for any guest.

Westpac are cancelling the AMEx Black that was linked with the PP card. PP wrote that my existing PP will be cancelled on the same day 4th April. They advise I need to resign for another this time using the Black Mastercard.

I wonder if I'll get two new free passes on the new registration.

Yes. It will cancel when you cancel your Westpac card.

It will cancel. My Amex charge card was hacked, cancelled and immediately replaced with a new one. I was rejected entry to PP lounge 2 weeks later as my PP card was now invalid. I had to reapply and received a new PP membership number.

That might answer a question I was about to ask.... Westpac have reissued my PP card due to the change from Amex to MC only. I'm guessing my new card is sitting at home (I'm away) as I note my PP account on the app says "expired" (but my physical card says November).

I was going to use my card here on the way home (I'd be paying as I've used my two free ones). I thought there was an outside chance the PP machines didn't process live, but am I likely to get rejected with my physical card? Either way they'd get their payment (it should just charge to my credit card).
