and dont forget you are entitled to take breakfast in the lounge or restaurant (one has a lot more choice)for no extra charge.

Last year we stayed in an exec room and tried to have breakfast in the restaurant instead of the lounge but were told that as I was using a BOGO certificate, we could only use the lounge :(

As I recall the selection in the lounge was really poor on the Monday morning.

Do the dining discounts apply by flashing our membership card ?

Or do we need to give a voucher?

I took it as we dont need to supply any voucher and the dining discounts apply all the time with the membership card.

Tks R

Thanks for the info - I'll keep an eye out re the BOGO voucher and was aware of the steep parking prices. Not aware that drinks were in the corridor - that sounds a bit off. And also will be asking about the breakfast - where is the best place to have breakfast? lounge or restaurant?

The dining discounts apply by, as you put it, 'flashing our membership card'

You do not have to even be staying in the hotel to use them. :D

Do make sure you show them the card on arrival though.

We used ours in the restaurant at the CP in Auckland recently (excellent restaurant) whilst staying at the Hilton.

Do check if you can have breakfast in the restaurant, its much better, and should be included: "EVENING DRINK AND CANAPE SERVICE AND BREAKFAST INCLUDED", it does not say Breakfast only in the lounge when using a BOGO.

Dining discounts always apply with the card, no voucher, unless its a pub hol the hotel says no (present it on arrival to be sure, I got caught at the CP in Perth on a public hol.

Great thanks guys !!

I guess I will need a gym membership now to run off all the dining discounts

Yes - thanks for all the help.
We've been Accor Advantage Plus Members for years now and have found that very good value so expect this wil be similar.
Some are good, some not so much, and sometimes very pleasant surprises.
It all averages out.

We spent a week in Bangkok a few years ago on the exec floor of the Pullman and have never experienced service like that since.

Can we use 2 PP cards at the Intercontinental Sydney when we have a party of 4 or more for their dining?
The Hyatt in Perth allows it and that is the Perth equivalent of the smorgasbord dinner.

Should not be an issue AFAIK, for lunch at the moment you only need one:

50% off lunch in Café Opera for up to 8 people
Café Opera, our grand hotel dining room, offers a fusion flavoured buffet inspired by the regions of the Mediterranean, Asia and South America. The buffet features local produce, an extensive selection of fresh seafood, seasonal dishes and indulgent desserts.
Throughout August, dine in Café Opera for lunch and dinner in multiples of two, and receive 50% off your total food bill and use only one card.
Offer valid for lunch & dinner, Sunday to Thursday until 31 August 2010. Maximum 8 people per card.

Try a chip maker :) BTW the members drinks are back at the HI BNE for those staying every Wednesday night, 6-6.30, only half an hour but included spirits!!!!

Indeed. And they advertise it widely. Flash your room card and you're in. 30 mins is still enough time for a couple of drinks.

If a certain AFF member had've cleared his PM mailbox, he would have been invited to drinks last Wed. Alas, I decided not to go :D

PS. I may have been at HI Brisbane over the weekend. I'm curious which floor you ended up in!

1113 was the room, one of the more quiet rooms all things considered. Apparently I am at the IC ADL tonight, which is weird because I am still in Brisbane but my reservations listings suggest otherwise, hope I get the points ;).

Ok thanks I thought that was the case, in any case the M/ship will be great for my upcoming planned stays at CP CHCH at Christmas, CP Sunshine coast, Family trip to IC Fiji (hopefully in Exec area) next year, Uni graduation in Sydney in April 2010, Rubgy World Cup NZ Sept 2011 (this is first on the list lol).

As you can see I have alot planned, and my wife wants to build a house next year, shame about that LOL.

Thanks again I'm sure my P/Priv mship will more than pay for itself.

Best I get back to work .....

Get back to work on making the wife happy again, or get back to real work? ;)

Paid (semi real) work ....

My Wife is always happy !!!

Even happier now that I am a P/Priv member ......
