definatley should be getting your points for your 10% off rates. I know from my travel the points can take some time to get posted. This issue does happen on other rates as well, have noted and will pass the info through to the Priority Club rewards team to make sure they aware.

Well, since I am still having trouble with this, I have decided that dealing with PC or PP is not going to solve the problem, so I need to take it up with a consumer body in one of the states. But which one.

PP is in Sydney - when I purchased the program I specifically asked abotu whether rates were eligible, and they said yes, but I am constantly denied points for being deeply discounted. They seem to be based in NSW, and the ability to get points for their rates was a condition of my renewal this year. They have misled me on this condition.

PC - somewhere in the US. STate that all negotiated rates in Asia Pacific are eligible but keep denying stays for being deeply discounted. They appear to be in breack of their own Terms and consitions on this

Hotels - Mostly I stay in Melbourne hotels, but have been others. From what I can tell, it is the hotels that determines whether a rate is eligible.

Me - I live in Western Australia, and obviously purchased PP membership while in this state.

I have given up trying to deal with these three, so now time to escalate and intend to do this as I believe they are in breach of consumer laws on this. Question is where should I be making my complaint to?

As my membership year of PP draws to a close it is time to reconsider whether I should renew for another year. I am leaning towards letting my membership lapse this year due to:

1) Availaiblity of 10% off rates not being what they were
2) Have had to argue with PC about every single stay and whether they were eligible for points.

I had a hard sell phone call from them last week. I responded by asking a few hard questions and comparing to the HPC program. They promised to get back to me and ......... I'm still waiting :!:

One of the things is that with HPC you get a discount off any rate you can find. With PP, you get the discount if they decide to make the rate available.

Anybody had a bit of an update on these guys ? Renewel just about due. Rgds Andrew

Hi Andrew

Received my renewal email today - so am waiting for call to see what they are going to offer/not offer for the next 12 months.

Privileges listed on the website look the same as last year at this stage but we all know that is subject to change. I'll report back here if I get any new info.

In case it's been missed. The Priority Privilege scheme is now run by the same company who runs the Hilton Premium Club scheme, or the other way around to be precise.

I hope this doesn't mean the two schemes become mirror images of each other.

Hi Markis10.

Some very valid points you have made and it was a complete oversight by the membership program team not to update the changes on the renewal email, will pass onto the correct people to make sure they do update. TY for the heads up!

Thanks for posting your comments, I look forward to seeing if we can also offer you member exclusive specials through this forum.

For those that are looking to get to the new Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley there is plenty of availbilty at the time of writing for using your Buy One Get One Free Certificates during the next coming weeks Sunday to Thursday.

Thanks again Mark and to the other posters in this space.

Cheers

Thanks Travel insider - do you work for the program?

I am really disappointed with the service (or lack of) which Priority Privilege provide.

My friend and I received the same standard renewal emails which mentioned the usual benefits except the $50 voucher and the breakfast for two voucher! In April I phoned PP and spoke to a supervisor about this and she agreed the email was incorrect and needed to be changed but she assured me the benefits remained the same as the previous year. I presumed the email would be updated but my friend's reminder arrived a couple of days ago and nothing has changed! Suprised??? No.

Also, we have both had to phone PP on numerous occasions to remind them to send our bottle of wine vouchers for recommending friends.

A few other observations:

The year before last I received a $100 dining voucher when I renewed and was told by the salesperson that I would get a $200 dining voucher plus a PP card for my spouse the next year (2008), but when I asked PP about it on renewal I was told that the person responsible had given out the wrong information to quite a lot of people and had since got the sack! This year I only recieved an extra BOGOF certificate.

Most hotels are fantastic at honoring dining discounts but Crowne Plaza Canberra are the exception. Unfortunately they do not give PP dining discounts on public holidays and often the restuarant is almost empty! On the guest comments card I have mentioned how disappointed I have been and that I have dined elsewhere but have received no acknowledgement! They have however, always given me a room upgrade as PC Platinum which I really appreciate.

During the good old days, hotels used to offer free drink vouchers to PP members but this benefit now seems to be non-existent.

In the last week or two IC Sydney appear to have ceased offering BOGOF on their Club rooms. :( Come on IC Sydney - please put the club rooms back on the website. I'm sure only a few AFF's would be taking advantage of the offer and after all, most people only get two certificates and use them at lots of different hotels.

Actually many AFF'ers on this program would realize that IC Syd offers the best value for money for your BOGOs, why save $200-400 elsewhere when the saving can be a lot more at the IC, I expect a lot of people use their coupons here. BTW using PC points to renew at 30K is a good use of those points if you are looking to burn some!

The forthcoming IC Melbourne might also open some good value opportunities

Hi - When does the I.C. in Melbourne start/finish ? Was there week before last and didn't sort of see anything obvious - but Melbourne was cold so kept to sheltered areas. Andrew

The hotel is due to open in December - the new GM was appointed a month or so back.

Love how a few of the "travel" sites have reviews posted or ratings given by people who have stayed at IC Melbourne already
