I just used the priority screening line at Gold Coast and no one even asked to look at my pass or anything. Seemed strange, she just waved us in and off we went - the regular line was VERY long so was happy for my status but strange they didn't even check anything.

It’s been randomly open and shut without notice. The VA lounge dragon said it was being impacted by lack of staff, they have a minimum number of people they need to operate it apparently and if even one calls in ‘sick’ then it’s kaput.
This. We were on MEL-BNE last Sunday (22/5) and on entry to the Lounge it was closed, however it reopened in enough time for the 1900-batch of flights to go through. MEL is arguably the worst for design and location of lounge and security.
