Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has some experience or can recommend a good private transfer service they have used from Shanghai Pudong Airport to the Bund and what it cost? I know taxi's are readily available outside the terminal but just wanting to know if anyone has used an alternative (not bus or PT). TIA

Just a bit outside of what you want but thought it may be of use for others

In February I organised a one way private transfer from Chongli Hebei province to PEK airport.
4 hour drive 250km. Car for 2 passengers and luggage. $USD 275
I booked through a travel company.
The website is: [email protected]
Good service. Came at appointed time. Safe car and driver.
Most important is to get address correct- I had the hotel at pickup point write the pickup address in Chinese so the actual Chinese address was communicated without the inaccuracies of translation - a photo was taken by the passenger which was sent to the travel company.

Something different try the Maglev train to the city and then taxi to the Bund, would suggest cheapest and quickest option

Thanks for the info guys.

I get into Shanghai after the last Maglev is scheduled for the day otherwise I def would have taken it. Have used it before and it was quick and cheap. Looks like I'll just resort to the taxi stand.

Does anyone know if the taxi's in Shanhai take cc's? Preferably Amex but no issue if they take Visa/MC. Thanks

Absolutely no CC for Shanghai or any other city taxi in China.

Thanks CE. I'll make sure I get some cash before I jump in the queue. Miss having Uber available in China. Was so easy last year when we went for the GP.

FWIW current booking arranged by Pudong Ritz Carlton > PVG is CNY1100 one way.

We also have a transfer from PVG > The PuLi hotel (Jing'an) , but this one is complimentary so not sure what the rate would be.

Rates for transfers arranged by hotels are an out and out touch. Taxis to / from Pudong to downtown Puxi ~CNY220. Last week DiDi from Sofitel Hyland on Nanjing Lu to Pudong CNY187.

On arr into Shanghai I used the Select Airport Transfer which was brand new Merc - but no idea what their commercial rates are - I will ask the Q in China WeChat forum for ref and see what I can find out.

Different city, same principle, I noted Westin Beijing Chaoyang wanted to charge 880 CNY for transfer to the airport - $180 AUD. The taxi I took cost 80 CNY - $16 AUD. Now I'm happy to pay a bit extra - but not 11x....
