Profitability of Qantas' CBR to SYD route.

With this sort of services it's not just about profit, it's about a feeder service into other routes domestic and international.

Look at it like a tree, all the spindly branches go into a solid truck that sustains everything, but if you cut of a few limbs or roots the trunk will suffer.

As a side (and of course to segway into a rail comment :D) that's why passenger trains to a certain extent have disappeared, railway management in this country was dumb and closed everything regional that didn't make money, but didn't understand those 10 passengers per day were feeder services to keep the trunk routes alive with a 100 passengers per day.

Haha so its not just me that doesn't like the dash 8s? I usually will pick the 737 flights unless there are none available when I need to travel. :)

I love the dash8, will always choose it over a jet if I can.
