Purchase Upgrade

Morning all, I am thinking of upgrading my flight to business. I am flying with Emirates, having booked with Qantas. When I go into Qantas it says, go to Emirates booking ref and when I go to Emirates it says ‘sorry you cannot purchase an upgrade’. Now check ins are pretty much automated, is there an opportunity to purchase upgrade at the airport? I am flying from Adelaide to Dubai. Many thanks all

Emirates still do cash upgrades at check-in AFAIK. Not sure if this is available at all departure airports though. Do you know if they use EK staff at Adelaide or some sort of 3rd party?

Did you book with Qantas using cash? If so call Qantas to upgrade. If you booked with points you’re out of luck, but you could try at the airport.

Do you mean you have a QF flight number EK operated flight? Paid with cash?
Will not be able to upgrade a codeshare flight with QF or EK ff points.

Or EK flight number EK operated flight? Paid with cash or QF points?
