Purchased at checkin upgrade

For a start it is wise to avoid the use of the word "upgrade" in these paid moves to a "higher" cabin.

I am aware that in recent years, if BA offered online paid rebooking into club Europe for a flight, then it was a re-ticket into I class and business SC/point earning would occur. This was not the case generally for paid cabin changes at check in.

Anyone ever been able to take up the option for paid 'upgrade' out of SIN? Having always used the premium check-in, I assume I'd have to try the QF counter?

Booked a ADL-SIN r/t + hotel for under $400 last month. Picked the 744s on QF5 & QF52 for decent Y seating up front. Premium loadings for SIN-BNE are very light - I9 U8 Z5 with a few days to go, so surely they'd want my money!

and I guess possibly no lounge access from W to J for same reasons (eg: @ SIN on LHR-SYD).

Good question, but wouldn't they just look for and see your Qantas business class boarding pass?

For what it's worth, would bags receive 'priority' tags too?

ex-HKG on QF last year it was called an "airport upgrade" - lounge access, seat in J but not additional baggage or J SC/points

think they'd only just started off the scheme as there was a lot of phone calls and supervisor helping out - the ticket was not changed just a new BP issued with something like 'Cabin Upgrade' written on it.

I have answered my own question. For reference:
SIN-AUS (I'm heading to BNE, but I assume it's good for SYD/MEL too)
Y -> W 420 SGD
Y -> J 1000 SGD
Haven't asked about points, definitely dependent on space available.

Got a free upgrade to a W seat on the way up so looks like my luck continues.
