Hi there,

I've been noticing a number of cheap cheap code share flights to Europe and wanted to know if anyone knew of instances where these flights were not honoured.

For example.....
I'm looking at a oneway J class fare on Etihad or Virgin from Sydney to Athens.
The Etihad and Virgin websites list the flights as AUD $6800 each (for one-way).
However the Aegean website lists their J Class codeshare on these flights as AUD $3209 - even though they are all on the Etihad metal on the same date.

Is this just a simple case of finding a lucky codeshare price OR are their "catches" with codeshare that you need to be aware (other than FF point earning issues)?

No, the flights are honored. And it's been going on with Aegean for awhile now. It's not like the return pricing is that cheaper, but I've noticed they sell one way tickets at half the return cost instead of inflated like most airlines do. And their J pricing is pretty much standard. They don't raise it that much on flights as seats sell out.

It happens a lot (think S7>QF and others, KQ within Asia used to be good), it works and works well and is a step up from HCT and the more basic tricks but can be harder to find. I looked up EF and can only see A3 selling on SQ routing to IT/DE/UK which could also be fun. Often they book into C or J bucket too.. which in a fairer QF system, means you'd get more SC ;)

I'm obviously missing something very obvious but I can't seem to get their website to display anything other than Flexi fares. Where's the J option box?!?!

Hi - I am struggling to find these flights on the Aegean site. Any help would be appreciated. Regards

Just follow these steps.......

1.Go to the Aegean Airlines website
2. Select Departure City: SYD. Arrival City: Athens
3. Select One-way and your Date (eg Nov 7)
4. Hit Search
5. Fare will be listed under Business column at Euro 2184.50

Thank you to all for the excellent advice, especially browski, who started this thread. Am I right in thinking a return J trip from MEL to ATH will earn you *G?

Agree thank you very much - will keep an eye on these options!

One way for $2600 is not bad if you need one way but Etihad do some ok fares themselves... a colleague at work booked MEL-LHR J return for 5.5k from EY direct a couple of weeks ago.
