Booking a flight to Bali, using a Qantas rewards points, but i would like to select a seat with extra leg room. This option is not available on the Qantas page. Can i purchase this flight, then separately buy the seats through Jetstar? Any assistance is appreciated.

THanks.

Yes.

You will get the Jetstar booking reference on the confirmation screen after you've booked. You can use either this or the Qantas PNR on jetstar.com Manage Booking to purchase seat selection and anything else you might need for the flight.

As mentioned above you can purchase seats via Jetstar however my suggestion is to hold fire about 24 hours after QF ticketing before purchasing any JQ add ons because weird things happen with QF/JQ bookings and it seems to be a nightly thing that comes through and fixes them.

We've recently done this and the option to purchase anything isn't available until tickets have been issued and which a couple of weeks ago, took a week to complete.

Other AFF's have given great information @nat4023
I did that for Ms Flyfrequently's CR Y in August.
From memory - $12, worth every cent if it is A320!

Took a week? That’s odd unless you weren’t prompted to enter DOB at time of booking? That will delay ticket issue.

I now always go back to the QF booking and check / enter APIS info immediately for any CR and revenue bookings - to avoid disappointment (ie booking cancelled because not ticketed).

Yes. I had to call them eventually and Qantas just said it was normal, we weren't travelling immediately and it was queued up. I couldn't do anything with the booking.

Off to Bali again @Pushka ?
Just next year using it as a cheap exit to Europe. So a couple of days on way over and a week on way back.

I had a problem last year but QF SYD-CGK / JQ DPS-PER / QF PER-SYD.

JQ cancelled their sector because it wasn’t ticketed. I called QF and they reinstated it. I then immediately entered DOB in APIS and eTicket arrived shortly after.

This was a change to an existing ticket and return leg didn't change. So DOB was already in the booking. I did say that I had lost a Qatar flight as Qantas didn't ticket in time and she said they can always get Jetstar to release seats.

Recently booked to Bali return myself using classic rewards and was miffed to find that seat selection was no longer included.
It was no problem to select on Jetstar - but they can jam that.
T'was the last straw - divorce from QFF almost complete now
