It was reported on ET (link to article at Post #29 and below) that the option would be provided to take the tag or the GT leaf.

I got the pop up the other day to "choose my gift" for re qualifying. It said nothing about getting a Green Tier leaf for declining a bag tag. Just told me that it'd be the more "sustainable choice".

Because too many tradies in their orange uniforms displaying their Gold/Platinum bag tags on their checked carry-on sling bags as if they are wearing Gucci bags on their day to day train commute.

Bro...having status is a perk that comes with many benefits but having status is not in itself a symbol of status. I am not going to think more highly of you even if you're the only one in Australia to carry a Chairman's Lounge bag tag.

Why is there no oneworld logo on the new tags? The old tags had it. In fact, I think every QFF tag since 2000 has had the oneworld logo with the relevant tier colour.

I thought the circle on the back of those new tags would have been the perfect place for the oneworld logo and the relevant Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald colours.

Damn! I should have read this before I threw away my platinum tag. I just didn't see myself ever attaching it to my bag.

There's currently a listing on eBay for a platinum tag with $215 as the highest bid. What value anyone sees in these things is a mystery to me. It's probably why I am not a rich man.

For me they have real monetary value while people are dropping $100+ per tag on eBay

For others I guess it's either wank factor .. or maybe they have a misunderstanding of QFF and think the tag will get them into lounges

I use the coaster because it’s useful for checking bags.

I don’t use the VA Plat tags nor will I use these as they serve no purpose other than putting the W in WP.

If someone is willing to pay me $180 for a bit of W, they can have it!

The new tags are definitely for the W imo. I'm going to take it on my backpack on UA - where it means less than nothing

There is a bunch of platinums on at the moment. Two new styles for $250ish each, plus 2 plat coasters with a current high bid over over $300.
