Q: status credit points on AA

Just want to update on our trip with AA. Yes, we did do the LAX - TPA (via DFW) with instant upgrade for under $600 each. The LAX - DFW segment "first class" was on a B767 and on time, so very nice and spacious. Luggage was checked through to TPA from LAX. The DFW - TPA segment "first class" was on a B737 delayed for 45 mins, still not bad. The food was good on both flights. We have got the 210 SC points from Qantas for the 2 segments :p

[We stayed at the Intercontinental in Tampa overnight and took the first flight out of Tampa for Dallas Fort Worth to spend 5 hours with good friends living there, before flying out to London with BA.]

We bought cheap discount Y tickets for the TPA - DFW segment on a B737, but did not receive any FF or SC point because it was Q class. Flight was 30 mins delayed, and no food as expected.

Thanks again, everyone, for your ideas and suggestions.

I assume I don't get SC for my AA flights... can anyone confirm?

If you earn points for travel on AA flight numbers then you get SC's (and status bonus).
Thanks... I had looked at the table but couldn't work it out some (O & Q) classes were missing. That explains it, cheers.

Bit of a bonus as I wasn't expecting any SCs
