Hubby is going to do a status run from SYD to PER when he is back in Oz in a few months time. He needs an overnight accommodation near or at airport. I have googled but could not find any hotel at the airport. There are a few hotels near the airport, but am not sure which one is reasonable. Could you please recommend a hotel near the airport that also provides free shuttle? Thanks!

Without going into too much detail - there are no airport hotels at PER, unless you call waiting outside the QF terminal suffice.

It all really depends on what you are after as PER hotels can be pricey.

Would the hotels at the Crown be suitable?

I stayed at this property about 10 or 12 years ago, when it was quite new, and it was clean and comfortable and had no issue with it. Assuming it is in similar condition today I would not hesitate to stay there again. It offers complimentary domestic airport shuttle and is quite close to the airport.

Thanks, mannej. Hubby prefers a hotel near airport. We stayed at the Pan Pacific 3 years ago.

Thanks, tuapekastar. I did see that hotel when I googled. I will read its reviews on the net.

You're welcome Myrna, but having now gone and had a peek at current reviews I'm not sure I would recommend it. Some reviews good and some not so good. No problems when I stayed but as I said it was awhile ago.

I'd probably stay at the Crown complex in Burswood. It is not that far from the airport.

Thanks, Tony. We did walk from the Pan Pacific to the Crown casino complex when we were there 3 years ago. So, will check it out again.

Have also stayed here multiple times in the last couple of years. Complimentary shuttle to/from domestic terminal and relatively clean rooms. For a status run it would suffice.

I would avoid Crown due to the cost and no airport shuttle. I stay there fairly frequently and have never spent less than $250 a night at either hotel.

I would recommend going for the BW Ascot or even ibis, but those ones and the others close to the airport sell out very quickly on FIFO days.
