In practice Federation hasn't been good for WA. If they had gone it alone they would have all that mineral wealth and a seat on the UN.

Don't forget our own airline, with a better earn and burn rate than Qantas would have, and then everyone on this board would have wanted to live in WA. We would have to have set up border controls to stop all the "mexian bandits" from the east come across the border during the night to take all our jobs and points.
