With it being fairly obvious QF using 787's on some AUS-US Routes in the future & in the introduction of Jetstar as well, would anyone like to have a stab on how UA will respond if at all particurlay with them exiting Chap 11 early next year & already stating Int'nl routes to get a makeover. QF appear to be making moves to really shore up the pacific route now that SIN seems to have fallen of the radar wich only leaves UA as any type of competitor. :(
 
One reason QF bought the 787 is because it had a per seat operating cost about the same as a 747-400. So if UA can get good loads on their 744, then they will have similar cost base.

QF is going to continue oprtating 747-400s to the USA for many years yet.
