Qantas A380 - ridiculous design fault

I've flown the A380 twice, both in F. The thing that bugged me was the sloooooow draining basins. Just try washing away toothpaste froth to make it pleasant for the next pax...:evil:.

Mentioned it to the FA and she said it drives them nuts. So a well-recognised design flaw.

Had a female pax not far out of MEL on LAX-MEL who complained bitterly in a stereotype way about 'men and their use of the washroom'. Apparently some guy had shaved and the basin had the shavings in it. I did point out to her that, in fairness, maybe he just couldn't wash them away easily. I don't think she was listening :p - but the FA was :rolleyes:.

As for the 'occupied' lights, surely everyone realises that they only come on when all toilets in that zone are occupied :o?

I’m pretty sure the question is in relation to the occupied sign on the door, not the sign overhead the galleys.

Do any aircraft illuminate the occupied/unoccupied tag on the door?

I don't know about slow drains....guess I've never put that much water into the sink (have to look next time I fly). But if I make a mess of the sink, I just give it a wipe with a cloth instead of putting more water into it.

The most exciting thing I've had is a missed approach... You don't really get to feel the real power of a 737's engines until the pilot hits the TOGA (Go Around) button and pulls back on the yoke - hard... It's the only time I have truely felt G forces in a plane...

Try it on a 744..... :shock::shock::shock:

I could not run my RESMED sleep machine on the A380 in Qantas First as there is no plug in point for it. I was surprised about this design omission.
On the 747 they run a cord to Seat 4A.

Contact QF before travelling. The engineers will sort out the power. If you don't contact them preflight, you aren't supposed to use it at all.
