I'm trying to book QF (or the AA codeshare on QF metal) for SYD-LAX end of October/beginning of November. That 2 week period 24/10-7/11 seems weird...some days there are no seats available at all, in any class, on the A380 where it seems pretty obvious that there are economy/PE/J/F class seats available. On anytime the 787 is operating the route, there are seats available

Also the AA codeshare on QF metal (see 31/10 and 4/11) on QF17 (AA7298) is not showing up at all - even though it is for subsequent weeks in November.

Is this a mistake in the QF ticketing system re the lack of AA code on QF flight or is QF still showing the 388 on amadeus and planning to downgrade to 787 hence why there is no availability showing in any class?

Am I better to wait for a week or 2 before booking while QF sees this and sorts it out?

Probably this. Eg they've stopped selling F fares for almost every day during that period, suggesting there will be no A380 between SYD and LAX. Wed 2 Nov seems to be an exception.
