Interesting that QF can find a 787 for HNL yet leaves BNE-LAX as a NZ-crewed A330.
Considering there's a Queensland state election in a year's time, how long will it be before Premier Annastacia throws out her taxpayer-funded AAIF money to offer QF to put the 787s back on the BNE-LAX route?*

*What route would QF have to take away the 787 from (Robbing Peter to pay Paul) to put on BNE-LAX if Queensland throws out the AAIF money basket.

Costs the same number of points as Jetstar business class. Probably a comparable product, too.

For an extra 20K you can get real business class. I don’t think PE is worth 60K.

Quite a lot of QF J awards dropped for US summer too, including school holidays and long weekends.

The dreamliner being on this route made a 5 night mini stay achievable as can go to work, then fly out that night, get a good 6-7 hours sleep and arrive refreshed.

Pity so few affordable hotels without a shub, even recently renovated seem to be persisting with the horrid shubs.

A lot of the Hiltons have normal showers, if you select a room type that says "Ri Shwr" in the title.

The Hilton Waikiki has them, and they have reasonable prices for HNL.

I recall vaguely that is because its actually an AKL-BNE-LAX-BNE-AKL - at least for the NZ cabin crew. (?)

I found one Hilton and one IHG with showers if you book a king bed room (1 bed) but as soon as change room type to one with 2 beds (a friend may be joing me from mainland) the shubs reappear. It seems like singles/romantic couples can get a shower, but those travelling with a plutonic friend or as a family have to suffer a shub.

Still researching but leaning towards booking a hotel I don't have status with via QF hotels and taking bonus points.

Was considering popping over to Kona place I stayed last time recent reno, but removed showers and replaced with shubs, oh the horror.

Yep, my HND-SYD has changed in the app from a 787 to an A330. I only booked economy on points but I wonder what the PE rebooking will look like.

The SYD-POM flight is being suspended from 3 February 2025. Customers being rebooked via BNE.

I'm a bit surprised to see this because today's QF191 is almost full. Perhaps the demand is seasonal.

I'm a bit surprised to see this because today's QF191 is almost full. Perhaps the demand is seasonal.

Based on several flights over the last few months, it seems QF192 is to some extent cannibalising loads on QF58. QF58 on a Friday has historically been packed to the gills, but since the introduction of QF192 it isn't unusual for there to be many empty seats.

Ultimately it is likely a yield play for QF.
