Qantas Adelaide Business Lounge

My kid went into the old lounge flying on a J tic on 12 July.

He was not directed into the former CL lounge

Prob to do with being Bronze(d)

But he enjoyed it all the same.

Got lit !
And onboard the flight to Perth he had a G&T for me!

We meet up in Spain on 23 July

If there is no dedicated facility for CL members currently in ADL then there is no CL. The former space has been repurposed. Simples.

Does it really matter what we are calling a lounge space?
I did write earlier that I was being overly pedantic about it - so I accept that absolutely.

My only point is that it could create a false impression to some when being read. Ie "I was sent to the CL" or "I was invited to the CL" has connotations. P1's for example are sometimes given invites to the real and actual CL's which is a very different thing.

That space in ADL is not a CL in fuction anymore.

I shall take my annoying pedant hat (and ball) with me as I depart ADL :)

Peace out y'all.

Silver and flew J last week, was directed to the old space.

Was a bit disappointed being on a J ticket given the reduced food offerings

I don't think J tickets are given entry but it's based on status. Just a hunch. There really isn't that much space in there.

The lounge wifi landing page indicates that it’s an “adlchair” lounge.

The food was better than the QANTAS Club, but a small selection. Self-serve drinks too.

Had to go to the QANTAS Club to get barista prepared coffee (or if wanting to get served a drink at the bar, rather than make one oneself). No a la carte menu either. Definitely not a Chairman’s lounge anymore as the service was far below what I would expect from that (though I’ve never been to a functioning Chairman’s Lounge).

One day it will be back to being the full CL, so we can still say “I have been in there” 😀
Perhaps not as I assume once stage one of the renovations are done, it will be gutted for stage 2, including a new CL.

I went to the former CL lounge a few times. Biggest selling point was personalized service and what was essentially a mini Sydney/Melbourne first menu with items such as salt and pepper squid made fresh for you. The little buffet and drinks area was always there to help yourself to but there wasn’t much need when whatever you wanted (including barista coffee) etc was brought to you. Atmosphere was always very quiet with generally only a handful of people in there at any one time so made for a nice sanctuary despite the slightly daggy furniture etc.

I hear the Adelaide lounge will not accept lounge invitations during the building period. If that's so, the four invitations I would normally transfer to family members here in Adelaide won't work -- and that would make my travels with family difficult.
Yep noticed this for an upcoming weekend away I have booked for Melbourne.

Can't use my lounge pass in ADL but can use it in MEL (they're the one attached to the Qantas Ultimate Amex).

I'm sure I can use the second pass on another weekend away, and just play the XBox in the sports themed pub that replaced the Penfolds restaurant at ADL :D

Entered today as a Plat but was just directed to the regular Qantas club. It was quite in the normal qantas club so no issues but they clearly were sending some in there as the door to the other space was open plus someone was carrying two coffees in there.

Interesting… might depend on who they know are flying (eg: still semi exclusive chairman’s are certain times).

Both houses of parliament are sitting from Monday. Politicians, staffers and various lobbyists and freeloaders have right of way I guess.
