Nope, not a requirement at all, pure codeshare. That's all.

So how do you explain the French announcemtns? There just happened to be a French speaking flight attendant on-board and he volunteered to translate announcements because he was bored or something?

Maybe based on how many seats were sold under the AF code?

Looking at flying to Paris in November.

I managed to get options from Canberra to Paris using the Air France codeshare flights. In economy it was $2000 dearer than QF to LHR and BA to Paris, and about $2500 dearer than just going to LHR on QF.

I’ve taken the LHR option and the Eurostar over. Being holidays time was not a big factor for me and even if time was a factor hard to justify the expense.

Does anyone know if lounge access is granted to QF status pax when flying on AF coded flights?

That sux, so elite AF members get lounge access but not further straining SIN lounge but QF pax get no access to AF lounges :-(

The wording is silent on whether there is differentiation based on codeshares. But had assumed that based on eligible customers travelling on one of the routes subject to the agreement (CDG-SIN/HKG and SIN/HKG-Australia) would have lounge access, whether they are on QF or AF code, unless it means that AF status pax have to be on AF code, and QF status pax have to be on QF code.

Eligible customers will also be able to access Qantas lounges in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, as well as Air France lounges in Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore. This includes Business class customers, Qantas Frequent Flyer Platinum One, Platinum and Gold members as well as Air France-KLM's Flying Blue Club 2000, Platinum and Gold members.

Yes I read that on AF site, pretty vague so was hoping for some real world experience.

About 10 years ago we travelled AF from CDG and was able to access the lounge in CDG as a SG - unfortunately I can't recall on what basis the access was provided. I do however recall doing some research at the time and I was not sure if we would get in or not (till we did).

Hi all,
I am looking at a trip from Sydney to Toulouse. Qantas + Air France is one option: SYD to SIN by QF then continue via Air France (with Air France code). Question: will i be able to get any QF points and access the QF lounge in Singapore and Air France Lounge in Paris (as a QF platinum flying economy)?
TIA

I doubt it on the AF code.

There are several paid option at SIN, but the airport itself really is one of the better places not to have lounge access.

One upgrade recently made for it.

Had a booking from a couple of months back with Air France code share on QF metal. Had been unable to select seats. However, in the past couple of weeks seat selection on the QF craft is now possible. Just gives you standard Bronze seat selection though.
