Qantas/Australia Post jet stuck at HBA?

Noticed the same thing the other day, it was the midday rush and there was a jet waiting for probably 10mins for a ‘gate’ unfortunately the one I was waiting to board…

Surely this has to be high on the list of an issue to fix. Especially heading toward busy summer season

I believe the crew were making an unscheduled stop for the highlight of Hobart Airport - the Qantas Lounge.
Name just one thing wrong with the Hobart lounge. Cannot be done!

Only one thing? Agree, can’t be done. Multiple things….?

I just looked at the 2022 HBA Master Plan

I see that there is freight parking available at H, described in this slide. Currently the Aus Post freighter parks up against the terminal, approx left of G

@jase05 do you know why this can't be used? As pointed out above, there are impacts on airport operations in having it take up a passenger apron.

They are planning further freight aprons, by 2030.

I think additional issue may be the current taxiway works, as they have shut part of Taxiway A (I think) while it is upgraded, we actually taxied through 'H' to zig zag our way to the apron

On arrival on Saturday, landed from the North then taxied in via D and H, then I think G to A to F to get around another aircraft pushing back and take their spot. Was quite the zig zag!
