Had a frustrating experience today booking award flights on Jetstar via the Qantas website. The Qantas side of the process went smoothly enough but when I subsequently logged in to Manage My Booking on Jetstar the problems began. (I did 2 separate bookings on the same flight from MEL to CNS for my wife and I - separate as we are returning on different days.)
Anyway using MMB on Jetstar showed no checked baggage allowance for either of us yet I know from recent prior experience (only 10 days ago) that Qantas award bookings on JQ receive a 20 kg baggage allowance.
I did an online chat with a Jetstar agent and they confirmed that their system was showing no checked baggage. Of course their stock advice is to take it up wit Qantas as they booked the flight.
Our QF itineraries show 20 kg each but I'm concerned if we turn up at the airport with baggage JQ will charge us extra for it. Should I be concerned?
The other issue I had was with seat selection. I had no problem selecting an extra legroom seat for my wife (on the 787 so according to SeatGuru it looks like it's effectively a business class seat). But when I logged into JQs MMB myself it just kept flipping me back to the login page. Got onto chat (again) and the agent did the seat selection for me - for an extra $5. Haven't seen any kind of receipt yet and of course I can't login to check.
Wondering if ayoe else has had tis experince of being continually flipped back to the login age when trying to access MMB on Jetstar.
