Qantas baggage handlers

He is a (genuine) question. If Qantas and Virgin often share the same contracted baggage handlers, why does Virgin priority baggage usually comes out first on the conveyor , whereas Qantas priority baggage hardly ever does?

Likely comes down to the contract. Might be that the Qantas contract just tells them to use a "best effort" (or similar language) for priority baggage, while Virgin actually has incentives or penalties for the priority baggage to be handled correctly. Or even if the contracts are similar, it could be down to how the contract is administered - maybe Virgin regularly sends their managers to monitor performance and correct any issues, while Qantas managers just stay in their offices and don't bother to pay attention? The contractor staff will know what their customer actually cares about, and instruct/supervise their staff accordingly.
