Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Braised beef brisket with the corn cakes and a mango salsa. 17:30 CBR-BNE.
I quite enjoyed it. Beef was tender and tasty. Salsa tasty (though I’d prefer it cold). Corn cakes were disappointing and had clearly been in the oven too long.
Quick service. Wine top ups offered right through to descent.

With apologies for the cutoff picture — lamb moussaka with green vegetables. BNE - CNS 19:50.

Moussaka is a favourite for me. And I’ve been lucky to have and make some really great dishes. Not surprisingly this one couldn’t stack up. But objectively as an airline meal it was pretty good. Generous serve and quite tasty.

Other option was a quinoa and egg salad.

Service initially was great. Quick and proactive with top ups.

Overall fine, but halfway through the flight the CSM sat down and didn’t see him until descent. Lazy, chatty crew. Requests met with rolling eyes or sighs. Probably says it all that one of the pilots brought out their own meal trays near the end of the cruise.

Won’t name here, but will give feedback for what it’s worth.

Didn't know where to ask, hopefully here is ok.

Does Qantas still serve spirits in Business Class (Transcon if that makes a difference), or only beer and wine? Ta

No spirits on my recent flights.
No spirits on trans-Tasman either. Didn't even get a welcome drink on my last two flights which really was a loss imo. But then on the flight itself at least, ample wine and proper French Champagne was served.

Didn't I read somewhere that Qantas in particular got plenty of bailout already...?
IMO it really is time to let insolvency laws govern the outcome at Qantas - i tend to think there is too much rot, and resistance to change, and it could all be cleared out, with a good old spring clean up in bankruptcy.

Any hint as to which champagne that is? 😀 I’ve booked SYD-ZQN for February next year so am somewhat interested.

Is 11am - 1.30pm still the correct departure window for lunchtime catering on domestic flights? Considering changing a booking to 11am and don't want to wind up with the dreaded snack...

I got lunch at 9am when I last flew (admittedly back in late July, so things may have changed). That was Cairns to Brisbane.
