Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Do you (or anyone else for that matter) happen to have a QF69 menu as I'm on it in just over a weeks time. Apologies if you posted this already, however from searching I couldn't find it.

I was in Y for QF69 :( The menu options were terrible. Lunch was either a meat or veg curry served about 90 minutes into a 12 hour flight. Six hours later dinner was server. Options were meat or veg curry.

There are a couple of Youtube reviews showing catering on the DEL routes.

Now that is a shame. Thanks though.

Appreciate the links / photo. Will take a look when I can.

Hey at least he upgraded the complimentary Lindt choccie from a 'ball' to a 'log' on a recent ADL flight. 🤣
Yea, that's fairly standard over the past few months as far as I can tell. Lindt is one of the best chocolate brands around so I'm not complaining though a proper desert (or heaven forbid, some cheese rather) would be nicer.

Does anyone know when (if?!) the transcon catering is going back to what it used to be? From what I can see, it’s the same as say a 1 hour flight SYD-MEL.

I want to say never ... I think QF has found the sweet spot in terms of catering, i.e, minimal/mundane meals, customer complaining, but still flying because it's the only AU transcon ATM ... things might (I wanna say) next year ... if & when VA starts transcon service? TBQH, IMHO, at this point, the answer is never ...

That’s such a shame, my first QF flight was SYD-PER and I was blown away by the catering. That flight I was on a 737 and I was amazed at how many choices there were and how high-quality it all was, especially on a narrowbody. I think the domestic food peaked in around 2018 and is now not that much better than BA CE, apart from maybe the bread and wine.

VA has been flying PER-SYD, PER-MEL, etc for quite some time now.

QF643 Syd-Per

Sorry photo was not brighter.

Mushroom frittata, bacon and bakes beans severed by a international crew. Very tasty.

After tea and coffee were served when trays were collected, only offered a Cookie and water later in the flight.

MEL-BNE "brunch" time flight (1130) on a (rare for dom) A330-300

"Feta and Leak quiche with mushy peas topped with caramelised onions" (bread came post photo).
Wine was some kind of Sauv Blanc. seemed quite young to me.. it was so so.

This was surprisingly good for what it was. I would have liked it a bit bigger, but for what it was the taste was good, it was cooked well, the onions were a nice touch and well did it need the peas? probably not but I suppose this was the healthy part? :D

A bit different to the usual offerings over the past little while so enjoyed it.

On the return was a ham and cheese toastie, which while totally fine was not terribly interesting.

OH! but no Lindt bar ot ball.. but a small (couple of squares) Candbuy dairy milk choccy. That was... a change.

QF152 12 July (6am AKL to MEL, but delayed by 4h30m)

This was pretty good, much better than my SYD-WLG flight, although I've had similar quality food on AirNZ trans-tasman Premium Economy.

Also a comment on this flight: the PSU above me was extremely dirty. I assume it's just from the air coming from the vent, but that's the vent output, so it should be filtered, right?

QF448 12 July (2pm MEL to SYD)

First time trying the cold option, it was actually quite nice. Didn't like the dressing though.

The CSM came to thank me for my loyalty this flight, which I wasn't expecting. Was it because I just made Gold? She didn't thank anyone else.

Lovely crew on both flights.

I know this thread is for J meals, but we were served this lunch on the 29th June in PE on QF6 from Per-Syd.

I understand Lasagne is a common meal served in J on Domestic flights.

It was nice to have cheese and crackers.

Please tell me that this was a mistake. This is EXACTLY the same as a J meal. I’m really happy for you but flying in “Business” always, I feel double and triple screwed by Qantas now. What the heck?
