Qantas Business Class meals & menus

QF9 PER-LHR

Fish cakes were ok, barra was pretty decent. I went the cheese for dessert and it was pretty good. First time on QF where the cheese was at room temperature. I only remember to take a photo once it was 90% consumed.

So I am going to guess the Lois sparkling is now offered on transcons but the rest get the grant burnt?

that's how it appears from this thread.

Have you seen how tiny the galley space is on the 787? seriously the mid cabin J galley - I don't know how they manage in that area tbh.

I suppose there's also the front galley which is where the ovens are.

How challenging is it to leave the bloody cheese out at least an hour before it's required ??
I'd think that the crew don't know what the menu is, until it's service time or when they come around asking for options? So, they may not know that there is cheese on offer today? Pre-CoVID experience on QF127/128, the crew had no idea what the menu was, so when I asked what they had for dessert, I vaguely remember the FA telling "the little cake thingy & chocolate"

That being said, I agree with your point, if the crew knew beforehand (somehow) that there is cheese on offer, it would be great if they can leave it out to thaw.

Given how little the menu has changed recently, I'd say the crew would have been serving the same food for much of this year - and therefore would have some idea that it might include cheese ;)

IIRC menu options, catered load and the number of each dish are discussed at either the pre flight briefing, or once on board after catering has been checked and confirmed.

Someone posted an OZ Asia menu recently.

It was the same menu I had for BNE-LAX this week, so I did not bother posting mine.

As indicated it appears to be a one size fits all approach.

Pointedly "Sapporo" beer is listed in the drinks list - but noted as only for Japan flights.

18:40 departure

Short flight so only one meal option available - kung pao chicken with cashew nuts and fried rice.

I love kung pao chicken so I was actually excited when the flight attendant told me what was on the menu - something that hasn’t happened for me on QF for a while. This one wasn’t quite authentic but I still enjoyed it.
