Tend to agree with Pushka re food options and amounts on QF7 - which I last flew in Feb (and am flying QF21 aka MEL-DFW in just over a month, so expect pretty much the same). I also stuffed myself in the Flounge prior, and so was half in a food coma when I boarded, and as such I had a smaller dinner meal (ie I just had soup and dessert iirc) than most but - mid flight snack options, plus the galley area also having laid out snacks of various kinds - fruit, cheese plates, chips, biscuits etc, and the arrival breakfast (still a bit odd when QF7 arrives mid afternoon, but that's how these ULH ops go) and plenty of food imo. Plus, given QF offer a multi course setup in J, such as a soup or appetiser(yeah, I'm using the American word!) as a separate selection which some options means there are definitely a variety to pick from. Certainly far more variety and options than a certain US based carrier I just recently also did transpac J in (yes, flying UA made me miss QF catering*... take that whichever way you wish
).
I certainly did not come off that flight feeling hungry.
* IC sundae excepted.
