Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Usually in the gds the meal code is for the flight overall not the class, so i find it odd that j and y wont get the same offering

It did appear that Y was supposed to be offered the dinner box (I saw a few of those in the J galley). However, catering was running late in SYD (why I am not sure) and the crew decided not to wait and ditch the full catering as they would rather get us to MEL on time.

And then the Bollinger cart came around in the SYD Business Lounge, to help wash down the baked ham and the turkey:

Finishing off a top Christmas Business Lounge meal.

Lunch time flight Adl-Syd was soup or toasted turkey sandwich.

I.mean the code B,D,L,R that appears alongside the flight in the gds

Hmm. ... I'm still not convinced ... for example, look at the codes for AA domestic flights where no free meals are available in economy ... You'll see "L, F" on a lunch timed flight meaning "Lunch" up front and "For Purchase" down the back.

I don't think there was much eating going on
Too many memories to capture :)

We managed to eat our dinner boxes up the back. Chicken biryani. Even managed a second bottle of wine (as an exception wine was offered on this service even though Saturday flights are usually excluded)

I'm surprised QF767 had a snack service in J, but dinner boxes in Y.

Have to say the chicken box in Y was actually really GOOD! I was surprised....there was a lot in there with some roti thrown in as well. The presentation isn't great, but there was nothing wrong with it and it was quite filling. One could argue possibly more than some of the J dinners I've had.

Well, maybe a meal at boarding school, but not a celebrity chef "inspired" meal. If you were served this at a cafe would you be happy?
No, nor would I be happy if served this on any aircraft in Business. Compared to Virgin's coast-to-coast business offering, this is pathetic.

QF 598 and 589 both had same menus as Mid November: Roll on a menu change lol flying these every month.

Small Plates were

Tomato & Basil Soup
Asparagus and Egg Salad

Large Plates were

Tomato & Basil Soup
Lamb Koftas and a salad thing (how this is classed as a big plate is beyond me)
Daily Fish (which was edible this time)
Beef Salad

Then Trifle or Maggie Beer Ice cream

Breakfast was the same too

Scones or Muffins for small plate

and for Large Plate

Cereal of some descripton
Lamb Sausages and Spinach and Feta Omlette
Ploughmans Plate

I had the omlette last time and it was absolutely disgusting and sausages near made me want to vomit and I assumed all passengers around me felt the same as everyone wasn't really eating it. My mate got it this time I opted for the plate with cheese, ham, egg and picked onion which was quite nice but mate said worse sausages he's ever eaten and the omelet wasn't far behind.
