Qantas Business Class meals & menus

I flew LST to SYD on June 3. No meal loaded. Offered $20 voucher upon arrival in sydney. Nice gesture but why would I stay in the airport longer than I needed to. Followed up with customer service and got 5k points. Honestly better since I probably wasn’t going to eat the meal anyways

QF653 Syd - Per (dinner service) on Sunday 9 June. Was 3 choices - beef brisket with side of mac and cheese and corn, chicken salad and another meat dish with side of curry.

Brisket was a little dry and mac and cheese was a little on the flavourless side, but still a solid meal that went down well. Lots of drinks top ups (those who were drinking probably would appreciate it more than I did 😅 ). Salmon was good with the side salad too, but the Maggie Beer chocolate and salted caramel ice cream was the best part of the meal - need more of that!

Ridiculous that you had to follow up for compensation. Should have been automatic

HNL-SYD QF104 9/6/24

The food was pretty good. First service I had the salmon salad, mahi mahi and pana cotta. Drinks service to start with a generous pour of Chardonnay. The pana cotta was delicious. None of the food was bad to be fair. Service dragged on for about 3.5 hrs though.

Second service was rushed 90 min before landing. I had the grilled chicken and cheese plate. Nice but nothing special. The beef noodles and fish burger looked to be better options. The apple tart was apparently very good.

Hi - just wondering if anyone has the current J menu for QF9/10 PER - LHR? Travelling next week with my wife who's pescatarian and trying to decide if we should get her a special meal. I'm hoping that the normal menu will have a plant based option and a fish option so we don't have to go the special menu route

I don’t think I’ve seen a long haul international J menu without pescatarian suitable options in yonks. All have at least 1 fish and 1 plant-based.

They gave us the voucher at the gate on arrival. Couldn't agree more but it was a quick email and took about 5 days. Im the last person to jump on Qantas's dick like lots of people on these forums but it was impressive compared to the teeth I had to pull at United to get a travel credit for a broken seat.

Plant based option is: Angel hair pasta with broccoli, garlic, pine nuts and chilli
Fish dish is: Seared snapper with scallops, roaster kipper potatoes and shellfish sauce

It seems to be the same soup @sudoer , with croutons if plant based and otherwise with Creme Fraiche.
Have seen this recently with pumpkin and ginger soup and smoked tomato soup.
PUMPKIN!

I'm flying SYD-PER-MEL tomorrow and am now taking bets on how many options make it to Row 4 that do not include pumpkin.

I think the plant based dining option is guaranteed on international routes these days?
Can confirm. They're not always great, but they have been, imho, a massive improvement over the special meals. Had some disastrous vego special meals in J prior to the introduction of the plant-based dining option. It's gotten to the point where I have to actively remember to order special meals if my flights include sectors on other airlines.

You didn't have any lawn clippings?

The breads and salads are so dull and boring— many airlines serve more than a few slices of sourdough. Any additional garnishes or innovations seem beyond Qantas's culinary ability.
Garlic bread please- so many airlines do this and just the smell usually makes me salivate in anticipation! 😛
